Who Qualifies for Medicinal Marijuana in Connecticut
A qualifying patient shall not be subject to arrest or prosecution, penalized in any manner, including, but not limited to, being subject to any civil penalty, or denied any right or privilege, including, but not limited to, being subject to any disciplinary action by a professional licensing board, for the palliative use of marijuana.
HOW TO BECOME A MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENT IN CONNECTICUT
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be a resident in the state of Connecticut with proof of residency
- The qualifying patient has been diagnosed by a physician as having a debilitating medical condition and has obtained medical records showing the diagnosis of that condition.
- Once your physician has registered you with the DHSS as a qualifying patient, you must obtain a Medical Marijuana card from the state of Connecticut.
CONNECTICUT QUALIFYING MARIJUANA PATIENT CONDITIONS
Cancer, glaucoma, HIV, AIDS, Parkinson disease, multiple sclerosis, damage to the nervous tissue of the spinal cord with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, epilepsy, cachexia, wasting syndrome, Crohn’s disease or post-traumatic stress disorder, sickle cell disease, Post laminectomy syndrome with chronic radiculopathy, severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, spasticity or neuropathic pain associated with fibromyalgia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, severe rheumatoid arthritis, post-herpetic neuralgia, muscular dystrophy, osteogenesis imperfecta, chronic neuropathic pain associated with degenerative spine disease, ulcerative colitis, complex regional pain syndrome, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, irreversible spinal injury with objective neurological indication of intractable spasticity, terminal illness requiring end-of-life care, uncontrolled intractable seizure disorder, hydrocephalus (water on the brain) with intractable headache; intractable headache syndrome, and neuropathic facial pain (chronic pain in the nerve that carries sensation from a person’s face to the brain).
Patients-We will only have a doctor on staff Tuesday (Sept 22nd) 12-4 in Hartford this week. Wednesday we will have staff available for the education process and filling out paperwork only. Thanks you for your understanding.
